It’s Sunday, and you know what that means. What? You don’t? Well, then, allow me to enlighten you: It’s the perfect time to relax, enjoy the end of the weekend, perhaps participate in the Christian worship service of your choice (provided you’re not a Seventh-day Adventist), and check out what people are talking about on the Queens Central Forums!
- One of the great thing about living here, you’d think, is being surrounded by city megaparks (two of the biggest are right in our backyard) and idyllic, tree-lined streets. So why isn’t there better cycling to be had? Do you ride? Have any favorite routes? Sound off on the forums and let us know!
- It seems like we all love to eat and we all love to complain about the dearth of great restaurants in the area. But some of us have places that we think deserve more credit than they get.
- Not so long ago, Central Queens was home to a thriving gay scene. What happened? Is there any hope of bringing it back? Where do the same-sex oriented hang out these days? Somebody must be taking the newspapers from the Gay City News box outside my front door. (It’s there because there used to be a gay bar in the current location of the pet store a block from my apartment. What’s better to have a block away, a gay bar or adorable window puppies? So conflicted!)
- Always a topic of intense interest around here: What’s coming and what’s going? Currently the subjects of intense speculation: the future tenant of the former Oishii’s, next to Key Food, and the opening date of the long-awaited Martha’s Country Bakery.
What are you waiting for? Registering is seriously like the easiest thing you’ve ever done, I promise. Thanks, WordPress!
