That’s brilliant! Can you say where it is?

Sadly, the only place where it is is inside my hard drive, though if you’d like me to send you a PDF file, you can always get it printed out on the giant printer at Kinko’s.

I still can’t read it. It’s still sideways. help?!

Sideways? Seriously?
It says:
FOREST HILLS,
YOU RULE.
Yeah, you’ve got more than your share of confused-looking ex-Soviet nationals, but don’t let that get you down - you’re the class of Queens. Your Boulevard of Death strikes fear into the hearts of phony-tough Bed-Stuy gentrifiers, and your plentiful banking options put Wall Street to shame. And the best part about Forest Hills? Even if Richard Branson wouldn’t touch this neighborhood with a 10-foot pole, you can always count on some cut-rate entrepreneur to open a T-Mobile store instead of a cute restaurant.
Presenting an idea as awesome as you:
Plans without annual contracts.
Virgin mobile
You Rule.

I want to laugh, but a new bank is opening up where the Cold Stone Creamery was on Austin. First Central Savings. So, actually I have to cry.

Oh, God, no, no, no. Thanks a lot for the information, but that is unimaginably depressing.

[…] A few days ago, I unilaterally declared that Central Queens would never be graced by one of Virgin Mobile’s snarky “You Rule” ads that have been popping up in fashionable neighborhoods around the city and proceeded to create my own for Forest Hills. […]

Virgin Mobile’s new “You Rule” ad campaign, which spreads neighborhood kissupery throughout New York’s more-fashionable districts, has been spotted in Chelsea, Murray Hill, the Lower East Side and Bedford-Stuyvesant (does anyone call it that anymore, or is the too-cool-for-school Bed-Stuy abbreviation now required?). But guess who Virgin doesn’t grant ruling status? That’s right, us, and probably the rest of Queens, too. LIC and Astoria might get theirs eventually — big emphasis on the “might” — but these ads will certainly never make it past the point where the 7 train turns off Queens Boulevard. So to make up for Virgin’s egregious oversight, I’ve virtually plastered the FoHi version of the ad on the side of a phone booth. Don’t even ask me how long this took to do — it’s embarrassing. Trying to match the fonts, which I ultimately could not do — a major defeat for a font enthusiast like myself — was excruciating.
