Pellegrino their menu is still all bottles. I think besides a larger space, their biggest need would be some taps.

Hey Yellowstone - haven't been to Dirty Pierre's in quite a few months. That's great they have a new beer menu. They had a Weinstephaner Hefe Weizen before which was good but it was a bottle. I'll have to see what new selections they have.

I'm eager to see how this place works out - FH is sorely in need of a standard bar/grill kind of restaurant. From the other two places they own in Manhattan it looks like the menu is far from interesting but my feeling is that if they do the standards well, then it will fill a big void in this neighborhood. Plus they serve brunch which if the execution is good, that will also be a great addition - for whatever reason brunch isn't done out here. I am also hoping for a beer list that shows promise and attention - anyone can offer Bud and Bud Light, but it takes being a bit more thoughtful to add some options for more selective beer drinkers.

As Steve has said, this is a great development for Forest Hills. This is only the fourth time since I moved to FH (9 years ago) that a non-chain restaurant has opened in FH on or near Austin Street (the only other three I can think of are Bangkok Cuisine, Jade and Rouge and Rouge is now closed). Not only that, Bonfire Grill is owned by people who have two restaurants in Manhattan. I hope this starts a trend of Manhattan restaurant owners opening new locations in FH. If the food is even decent, I have a feeling this place will do very well. And they even have brunch!

That's what I thought, but I was trying to be "gentle," as you suggested. Hope the menu is interesting and the food is good.

A lot of places do open without a liquor license, though I suppose it's odd for one that centers on a large bar to do so.

Maybe I am just technologically impaired, but when I checked the NYS SLA website to see if this place has its liquor license yet, nothing pops up. I guess they could open without the license...
