No, I wasn’t doing it to seem witty, I was doing it to show how annoyingly idiotic Heffron is for lashing out at those who are seeking help instead of extending an olive branch. He also hasn’t explained where on my blog I attacked TA for being in bed with developers.

Western Queens Centric for QATC purposes = Astoria, Long Island City, Sunnyside

Other Western Queens nabes include Glendale, Ridgewood, Middle Village, Maspeth. But no one at QATC gives a royal damn about those areas, though. Why? Not enough bike riders from a certain economic class!

Yep, that’s what I wrote, but if you notice, I did not say that people interested in traffic calming and improving pedestrian safety should stay away from the meetings or be forcibly kicked out.

In fact, one of the agenda items at the meeting was about reducing truck traffic on Astoria Boulevard and surrounding areas. If you had attended the meeting, you would have heard the details, but since you didn’t, I’ll summarize it in a later post.

What I wrote was my personal opinion, not the opinion of the TAQC as a whole. Thanks for electing me their official spokesperson, but hey, I already have a job and this blog to maintain. Keep in mind that blogs are personal diaries, sounding boards and editorials, not official spokespeople or journalists.

God, I don’t know where this Christina chick got the idea that the TA’s Queens Committee was just about bicycles. You have a bad attitude, Heff, and unfortunately that seems to be preventing you from helping those who seek your assistance with non-bike related projects. Beyond a nasty comment attacking the person seeking help, I have never heard of you. TA has not done a thing about protecting pedestrian communities in Queens from truck traffic.

Well then, it appears the Queens Committee is failing at looking out for the needs of those outside of bike riders. This DOT initiative has been in the works for more than 3 years, so you definitely should have heard of it.

I don’t see why I would post nice comments on another blog about a group that basically ignored my requests for assistance. I also haven’t seen the Queens Crapper post anything that says TA is in bed with developers.

Furthermore, it was only after I posted on Streetsblog that I received a response from TA, who I tried contacting politely with no response. It’s interesting that you just happened to see that comment since they removed it with breakneck speed. After I posted the comment here, I actually was contacted by the person who says they will help with the problem. Complaining publicly is usually not pretty, but sometimes is necessary.

Bad-mouthing an organization in public like you’re doing is petty and unprofessional. I suggest you change your attitude. Or perhaps you’re not really interested in the assistance and have another motive?
