I am looking to rent a spot/driveway that I can put my commercial van. I am looking for something near 67 Ave and 108 St (Not more than 3-4 blocks away). The only stipulation is I must have 24/7 access. I am willing to pay up to $175 per month. Just wondering if anyone can help me with this. Thanks!

Its illegal to park a commercial vehicle on a residential street overnight. Driveways are okay, as they are private property.

Where do you report a comercial vehicle parked at city owned streets? I don't see the cops giving tickets to this moron in my street. he vandalized my car when I parked at what he feels is "his spot." he even threatens people who park on "his spot" just to maintain the city owned spot for his commercial van. what about a vehicle with car dealer's plates, he has one dealer plate and has no problem parking at our residential city owned streets either... can someone help me with that info? thank you.

anyone notice an influx of ambulates parked overnight along 110th and 112th streets overnight and on weekends. I checked the law it says commercial vehicles can park for three hours on public streets. you'd think with the city in need of money they'd be ticketing these vans, but they don't.

KR: The law only prohibits street parking for comml vehicles at nite in a residential neighborhood unless the vehicle is being used for a service call in the area at the time it's parked. There is no prohibition in the statute for parking in a residential driveway or garage. There are plenty of people who park their service vehicles in their driveways at night. You're not talking about trucks but small cargo vans for artisan contractors.

Have not noticed this on 112th, but perhaps it's not near where I am. What I do find amusing is this incredibly junky 25 year old (maybe more) Honda hatchback that is consistently parked near the Kennedy House on 72nd Drive. It only moves for alternate side. Why have a car if you NEVER use it? Also love the GM with Mexican plates. They're not temporary.. have seen this car for over 2 years.

TalbotResident is correct, a Commercial Vehicle is not able to park on a residential street from the hours of 9pm to 5am every day, unless said commercial vehicle is providing a service at night (i.e. heating, plumbing, etc) but the company has to prove they are working in the area.
However a commercial vehicle is not supposed to be parked at any one location for more than three hours, at any time, but this seems rarely enforced and can be hard to prove. If you see a commercial vehicle (check the plates to verify) parked on a street at night do not hesitate to call 311, especially if its constant.

i received a Dept of Building ,,,"Quality of Life" violation for my tenant parking his commercial vehicle in the private fenced driveway overnight. TWICE....$240 + $240.....The cops said it's not a violation. SO who's right? I keep getting the violation so my tenant has to pay for a spot on the main street about 7 blocks away, and he rented the apt upstairs because he thought he would be able to park his van in the driveway. Can someone help me? His van was plane white,, nothing too big and it fit in the small garage. IT was just plain white.

SPDDOC - if the tenant's van fit the garage, how did you receive the tickets? Do not just leave the van in the driveway - bound to get tickets. Hide it in the garage.

Can someone please find the written rule saying that a commercial vehicle cannot park in a private driveway? I share a driveway with someone that parks a commercial vehicle there and it drives me crazy. Makes it feel like a construction zone. This is all I'm aware of:

Check out section 4-08(k) (5) & (6), which speak to parking of commercial vehicles. Doesn't say in plain English what you are looking for, but it's the closest thing I can find looking quickly.

I was walking up 82nd Rd the other day in KG, and there was a white commercial van parked on the street. Written on the side of the van in Magic Marker was "No Overnight Parking". Seems a little extreme to me.
Perhaps you have seen it, it's the van with Kew Gardens spelled wrong on the doors.
