vicious crime just happened. my friend's aunt was attacked yesterday (sunday) around the 71st continental station in mid afternoon! supposedly it was a bunch of punks and they were using baseball bats.the cops did not apprehend anyone but states that they are targeting asian women. how this is possible in broad daylight in a very central part of our area i can't even fathom. luckily she is doing okay and recovering.
please be careful everyone!

I never see cops in our area, especially in the subway. I hardly even see cops in Manhattan. I think they're all hiding somewhere.

I see cops in the subway pretty often. I have even seen them stop a few people to check their bags, including my boyfriend who was dressed in a suit.

Sorry to hear what happened al2003od. Hope the lady is doing OK. I also never see cops in FH and the ONE TIME I tried to take a photo of a business storefront for Yelp, this lady cop ran towards me as if I'm a terrorist plotting something.

she is resting fine but they have not caught anyone yet. these were young punks probably bored and looking for easy targets. i was definitely fumed when i heard about this happening in our hood.
