The roads around 64, 65 Av/Rd in Rego Park and Forest Hills were milled about three weeks ago. So far they haven't been paved. Anyone knows what the interval between milling the paving generally is?
Actually the conditions of those roads were not bad. Why do they resurface them but leave worse roads (such as 110 St from FH High School to LIE) untouched?

That's what's happening on Yellowstone and QB (south side). It's a real pain in the ass to make that left turn to get to my building's parking garage entrance. All the traffic is backed up on Yellowstone at rush hour because of it. I usually hang out at work later than usual to avoid the mess or go the back way through the gardens just to avoid it.

I believe the pavement on 110th St from FH HS to LIE was redone about 4-6 years ago?

I live near 77th and 113st and it was paved less than a week after milling. (last year)

if you (we)'re lucky, in about 2 weeks they'll pave the roads... but what a waste of money! QB at Yellowstone is in a terrible shape, crossing the intersection is like crossing a battlefield. service road leading to the LIE ramp in RP, from 62rd Dr, and the ramp itself are in pitiful condition - and yet they are repaving streets that are in pretty decent shape... efficiency of a city department!
anybody takes BQE to Brooklyn? approaching Kosciusco Bridge (from both sides) and going over it is a torture! I started taking a longer route, through Greenpoint/Williamsburg, just to avoid the bridge and save my car suspension ..

Well, if you take local route to avoid Kos Bridge, your car's brake may suffer. The "best" lane to cross the Kos Br to Brooklyn is the leftmost lane. The return trip? No solution.

When I was coming home from work last night I actually saw a woman in a wheelchair trying to cross Yellowstone in that bumpy raised manhole mess of a street. It's very dangerous.

67th Drive and down towards Rego Park, north of QB, have been ripped up for weeks. WTH?! When will they be repaved?

The repaving started yesterday morning. Things should be done by the end of the week. I think they generally wait until they have a set number of streets ripped up to repave, so that the rapaving process goes faster. In other words, take 2 or 3 weeks to rip up 20 blocks worth of streets in one area, and then take 3 or 4 days to pave the streets. If they rip and repave quickly, there ends up being bumps in the road and hills because it becomes uneven very fast. (Ever tried driving up 64th Rd, and hitting the bump of Yellowstone Blvd that scrapes EVERY car?)

I walked home to FH from the Rego Mall tonight and noticed streets on the north side near QB around 64th/65th have been retarred

Didn't go down there. But most of the streets that I've been driving on STILL haven't been fixed. That includes parts of Queens Blvd by the Best Buy mall.
It's cool. I enjoy the challenge of driving on unpaved streets.

I don't know about the other roads going through this transition in the area but Yellowstone and QB are still unpaved with the raised manholes. I get home too late from work to see if they're actually working on the repaving. It looks like nothing's been done since they started with it.

There was a story on WABC about this exact problem on Bell Blvd. in Bayside. The newschick contacted the DOT and they said it would be paved by the end of the week.
