The Wiggles space is still empty.
The former 1800-Mattress space was only sealed up last night.It looks like the storefronts where the fire was a while back will most likely need to be torn down. There's red tape warning people walking by that there's an asbestos warning.
I was walking Queens Blvd on the North Side and thought I passed by you, Jewels, but it was dark out (between 10 and 11) so I wasn't sure and didn't want to approach someone who wasn't you just in case. Guess it was you. haha

Went to Panera and got caught in the rain. Waited in the lobby area when they closed till the rain stopped. Luckily I had a plastic bag with me--the paper shopping bags Panera gives you would not hold up in the rain. I would have passed your area around 10:15. Panera is better than DD/Starbucks for free WiFi

I did not know wiggles closed. So we lost both wiggles and goldfingers? Wow. The economy must really be bad. Where will all those people go now?

I never actually saw anyone go into Wiggles, other than someone I presumed must have been a stripper...who also made me cringe.....scary looking!

The goldfingers location is way out there, but the wiggles location is actually quite appealing. Directly on top of the subway entrance and it seems like at least 2 store fronts. I would imagine it's a sizable space.

I liked the original Scott's. Then it went through being a series of restaurants, ending up as "Scott's" again, before becoming Wiggles. Interestingly, all those restaurants pre-dating Wiggles and post-first Scott's never had an alcohol license, not even for beer. Was it because the owner was the same mafia guy who ran Wiggles?

There were so many restaurants after Scott's, that I lost track. I vaguely remember the Otomanelli's...wasn't there for long, never ate at that incarnation. I don't think it was that closely connected to the butcher shop, if at all. The original Scott's was smaller, had a gorgeous display window with lobsters and fish.
