Bugleg was going to update the site to make it easier to navigate--but said he was going to speak to Steve first since people found structure more preferable. At the same time Biker contacted Steve about all the spam/bots. Steve agreed he needed a spam deleter--which was what Poprocks was supposed to do before she took it upon herself to be an editor. Steve said he would go with a vote on QC. We voted Biker the spam deleter and Bugleg the backup

Queensneighbors.com is down because I was trying to install the wordpress forums and got sidetracked, leaving it in the limbo it's in now.
Biker, I emailed Steve today (or yesterday?) reminding him. I'm going to roll up my sleeves and try and get wordpress forums installed and working @ queensneighbors--with any luck, I can get the forums churning over the weekend.

queens moll, not sure why you're not getting in to the site. Try with a different browser. I mostly use FireFox but I also have IE.

He's out of town all right. I think Steve has to be written off as he has done nothing that indicates any willingness to keep this site thriving and continuing. Bugleg has put more effort into the QC Community in one day than Steve has done in four years.

Oh, please, out of town for the Jewish holidays. Rosh Hashana was two weeks ago. Yom Kippur was a week ago. Who leaves town for Sukkot? The other thread, which, strangely, though I can find, won't open, was started 2 weeks ago. And from what biker is saying here, Steve did not contact biker, nor did he indicate that he would accede to a vote of forum members. It also appears that he has not responded to bugleg either. It is very clear that if Steve checks his e-mail regarding this site, he doesn't do it very often and if he does, for whatever reason, he chooses not to respond to e-mails. Participants on this site have been more than patient with Steve, but since he's basically ignoring this site, there's no reason to continue allegiance to this site if there's another one out there that people will be comfortable with.

I understand that this is an easy to maneuver site, but when we all thought it would never be up and running again were willing to figure out how to get around on bugleg's forum. Mea culpa about what Steve apparently told biker. I didn't remember it and was basing my comment on biker's remark in this thread. It sounds like bugleg is attempting to adapt his site to a format more to the liking of the members of this site than the original attempt, but with features like private messaging and a spam blocker. It will be easy enough to start a thread on this site titled something like "New, improved queensneighbors.com is up and running" with a brief description of how to find the site and to periodically cut and paste those instructions and bump up the thread so that it doesn't get buried in spam. That way, old members who don't visit this site often, and new potential members will know where to go.

I've been through this before, where I was part of a long standing internet community that the admins had absolutely no concern for. One of these incidents happened over 10 years ago and people that were affected are STILL talking about it! The site just went down with virtually no explanation. The system was up and down for bout a week and then it went down altogether. This was in the early days of the internet

I know this may have been discussed, but would it be possible for bugleg or some other kind soul to start a forum here, in the same place, as opposed to somewhere else with a different format? There's just something cleaner about this style, for me anyway.

Looks pretty nice, bugleg. I know Steve has been asked. I had volunteered here to delete spam but that was ignored. What I meant was to create a forum just like this one with a slightly different name. The one you made looks pretty good though, except perhaps too many clicks? Please don't take any criticism as ungratefulness. I think we all fully appreciate what you're doing!
