Johnny the racecar driver - where do you race? I don’t know of any racing tracks in the NYC area. I’m presuming you race on designated off-street tracks, not on streets and thoroughfares like QB, right? And when you drive your regular car, I know you don’t speed or drive recklessly, because racecar drivers are actually very responsible drivers on public streets. So, you probably know how important it is to be responsible while operating a motor vehicle, and to respect the rules of the road.

In that spirit, I’m sure that you would support improving safety for all on a boulevard that often gets treating like a racing strip, not a public road.

Driving your racecar is getting expensive these days, isn’t it? You might want to look into using a bike to get around.

Sooo, then why are you, as a car driver, imposing on the rest of us - the majority of New York City residents who DON’T drive?

Johnny the Racecar Driver: This meeting is not only about a bicycle lane(s). There will be discussions about making the stop lights longer to allow the older people and other pedestrians to safely make it across Queens Blvd. in time without having to stop at one of the islands and be at a higher risk of being hit by oncoming traffic.

Yeah most people don’t ride their bikes to work ok? I’m sure you can find people who canoe, rollerskate or even ride their horse to work. If you want to indulge your hobby thats your problem. Otherwise take mass transportation or drive like the rest of us and stop imposing on the rest of us

Dear Mr. Racecar Driver, I would like to bring it to your attention that people don’t ride their bikes only for fun or exercise purposes. They ride it as a mode of transportation to and from work. Riding a bike is faster and cheaper. It’s better for congestion and pollution. Good for health as well. The bicyclists have same right of the way as the car, racecar, truck and bus drivers. Thanks.

Yawn, here we go again. Queens Blvd is already congested and we DON’T need to reduce the number of lanes available in order to make a bunch of bicycle enthusiasts happy. If you wan’t to ride your bike safely, go to the park.

Hi, I am glad to see so many people interested in the Bike Lane along Queens BLVD. Asif and I were close friends for many years, and sharing the same birthday only brought us closer. His soul has touched so many people, and he would be glad to know the accident could transform into the safety of the residents of Queens. Many of which choose to ride their bikes or walk through the area.

I will be attending the press conference and I hope it brings the community together for this great cause. To all those who are pushing for the changes to be made, thank you for your support and help. It’s invaluable in these hard times.
