It was a known fact that busshelters and newsstands were being replaced which was announced awhile back in 2006 in all honesty. The new newsstand will make Forest Hills look nicer. The old newsstand was in bad shape. If you keep the newsstands and obviously they are being kept, then we just needed to make em look nice for the community. Permits dont have to be searched for. That is the one on the North side of queens boulevard which the above referenced permit is for. The one on 71st and continental is still around and there is no permit as of yet for new newstand. If you see that one abandoned too its cause its being replaced. Though I dont see a permit for replacement of that one right now. Yes that newsstand is being replaced.
